Music for Performance Task 3 10/2/2016

DIFFERENT RHYTHMS AND TEMPOS

Task 3

Dancehall, this music is geared around dancing and you want to dance straight away, the vocals are more exciting than the chinese vocals in the Zen music. Also the songs starts in an exciting way and straight away becomes a dancing track. the tempo is much faster than the chinese Zen tempo and the songs keep a dance vibe throughout the whole song. Here is an example of dancehall

Chinese Zen music
the first thing i noticed abut Chinese music was that is was calmer than Dancehall and aimed at relaxing you straight away. The vocals are much calmer then the dance hall, the tempo is much slower than the dancehall. Here is a link to an example

Beethovens 5th Symphony

Beethoven's 5th Symphony - This music starts off slow then gradually builds, this helps to create tension. The tempo doesn't stay the same it changes as the songs starts to build up and when the tempo changes it makes it exciting tense and scary.

Diana Ross -Love Hangover

Diana Ross -Love Hangover- This song starts of slow and calm and a 4/4 rhythm at around  70 bpm it then gradually goes up to around 115 bpm but still the beat  stays at a 4/4, and then the   music turns into a dancing track, which is fun and exciting this is because the tempo made people feel uplifted

Ike and Tina

Ike and Tina- the song starts off calm then gradually builds up and turns into a dance song with loads of energy in the song, the tempo gains as the song starts to build up. It speeds up in the middle of the song and turns into a dancing son, it is a fun and exciting song because the tempo keeps getting faster and builds up to an explosive ending .

paranoid android RadioHead

Paranoid Android RadioHead- This song is slow and calm throughout  the most of the song, it has a depressing vibe and it is trying to make you emotional and it works quite well until his guitar solo when the tempo speeds up then towards the end the tempo slows right down and becomes very emotional and depressing. The song finishes up tempo like rock that makes it feel angry.

Queen Bohemian Rhapsody

Queen Bohemian Rhapsody- This song is exciting at first, it is calm and the tempo starts quite slow for the first  few verses, then it speeds up and with the vocals it becomes scary, then there is a rock section that is exciting and has a dance vibe.At the end it slows right down which makes you think about the whole story.

EXPLORING A CAREER IN THE CREATIVE SECTOR 20/1/16

1.1 Outline key sources of information.

Here is one place called Point Blank where you can come and learn about music productions. There is a building based in London where you can do courses, or you can have the option of doing an online course there is also a Los Angeles course.

Point Blank

Here are some of the courses you can get online.

Another way of learning is by asking your friends or family and allowing them to show you there skills, they could  teach you how to do music production. Also if you can sit with them in a working environment so you can also pick up skills like that.

Family/Friends

A good way is by listening to the radio for any advice or information and then looking on the website for practical demonstrations, advice and contacts on how to create a music production track.

Radio Station

Here is a way of learning by going to a recording studio, some of the worlds biggest producers started life as tea boys in recording studios and learnt by watching other producers work.

Recording Studio

This is  one of the best ways to find advice on music productions and demonstrations. You can find  lots of different people giving demonstrations and explaining how to use logic and other music production tools.

Music for Performance Task 1a / 1b 8th January 2016

Today we are looking at how music changed the atmosphere and the mood of a film.
The first movie we are looking at is called Evian with the soundtrack over the top makes the advert sound: fun, happy, weird and interesting. Also it makes you wanna keep watching.
Here is a link to the video

The next video was called Alien 3 the soundtrack makes the movie sound: scary, intense and also it makes the movie eye catching. The music starts quiet and then builds up,it uses sound effects to make it scary. They mainly use all real instruments for the sound effects which helps it to feel real this was a good example of how to use music in film
Here is the video Link.

This video is called Apocalypse Now in this movie the sound effects make you feel: excited, eye catching. The music starts off calm and peaceful  but then becomes a battle soundtrack. The music starts slow then gradually starts to build up, the reason for this is because it wants to make the clip intense . They use an operatic voice to start the film off this make the introduction calm then it speeds up to a big scene.
Here is the link to the video.

The final video  is called Charlie Chaplin's The Lions Cage. The sound effects in this movie are funny, the beats go with everything he does. The music is calm until they see the lion, once you see the lion the beat starts to get faster. the reason for this is to make it intense. They used different sounds for each individual so the lion had a trombone to make him sound powerful and the sound for the man was a flute which made him sound a little weak. There was no talking in this movie so the story was told using just the music
